# تقييم الصفات الانتاجية لبعض السلالات المحلية من الدواجن تحت ظروف غذائية معينة.

[This experinent was conducted at the Poultry Research Station in Sids,
Bani Sowef Governorate, with the objectives of evaluation the
performance
of six local breeds of chickens (Bandara, Golden Mbntazah, Girrmizah,
Dokki-4, Fayoumi and Dandarawi) in addition to L.S.L chicks
as a reference for egg production.
Data
were collected from day old chicks to the end of growing period to
compare breeds under one plan of nutrition, but during laying period,
data concerning the performance of the breeds under two protein levels
(13% and 16%) were available throughout 11 laying months.
Results obtained could be summerized as follows:
1- In general, Bandara chicks had heaviest body. weight than other
breeds, followed by Golden Mbntazah and Girrmizah, although L. S .L.
day old chicks had higher body weight than other breeds. But Dokki -4,
L.S.L and Fayoumi had internediate values during all age intervals.
Dandarawi chicks had lower body weight than other breeds.
2-
At the sane manner, Bandara chicks consumed more feed, followed by
Gimnizah and Golden Mbntazh, while feed consumption for Dandarawi
chicks was lower than all other breeds.
3- With respect of feed
conversion rate, Golden Mbntazah chicks had superior values for
conversion the feed to weight gain during growing period, but L.S.L
chicks were superior for conversion feed to egg during laying period.
On the other hand, Dandarawi chicks had inferior rate with respect of
feed conversion to both meat and egg during growing and laying periods.
4-
L.S.L chicks had the lowest viability percentages during growing and
laying periods than other breeds. Birds under high dietary protein are
more viable than with low protein diet.
5- Dokki-4, Dandarawi and
L.S.L chicks reached the age of sexual maturity earlier, but Bandara
were latter than other breeds. There were no significant effect for
dietary protein levels in respect of this trait.
6- There were significant breed differences with respect of egg
number L.S.L chicks were superior (172.93 egg/hen) to other breeds,
followed
by Fayoumi (156.26 egg/hen). Dokki-4, Gimmizah, Golden Mbntazah and
Dandarawi hens had intermediate number of egg production, while Bandara
had lowest egg number(137.86 egg/hen). There was significant effect for
dietary protein level on egg number.
Number of eggs laid for L.S.L ,
Fayoumi and Gimmizah chicks were decreased as dietary protein level
decreased, but Bandara, Golden Mbntazah, Dokki-4 and Dandarawi the
number of egg was not affected with dietary protein levels.
7- There were significant differences between breeds in respect of
egg weight, being 52.05,43.85, 43.38, 42.72, 40.58, 38.95 and 36.05
gm for L. S. L, Bandara, Golden Mbntazah, Gimmizah, Dokki -4, Fayoumi and Dandarawi, respectively.
Dietary protein level had significant effect on average egg weight
being 43.1 and 41.92 gm/egg for high and low dietary protein level;
respectively.
8-
Birds under high dietary protein level consumed less feed than under
low dietary protein level. There were no significant interaction
between breed and protein level in respect of this trait.
9-
Hens with high dietary protein level had superior feed conversion rate
(6.05) than with low dietary protein level (6.69 gm feed/gm
eggs produced). There were significant interaction between breed and protein level for this trait.
10- Niether breed nore dietary protein level had significant effect on fertility percentages.
11- Although Fayoumi breed had significant higher hatchability
percentage than L.S.L, Bandara and GiImtizah, this trait was not
affected by dietary protein levels
12- Dandarawi chicks laid mre rounder eggs than Dokki -4 and Gim-
mizah eggs. Dandarawi and Fayoumi eggs had more strength and thicker
shell than other breeds.
13-
Eggs laid by L.S.L and Fayoumi hens had more Haugh units and yolk index
score butDokki -4 and Dandarawi eggs had lower score in
these respects.
14- There were no significant effect of dietary protein levels on shell quality, Haugh units or yolk index
